… 8, 9 AAAANNDD 10! 10 years since the creation of the Collectif Arc-en-Ciel. We are the 6th June 2015. The Plaza and Rose Hill is preparing itself for the celebration of diversity and equality. The theme: I Love; that to love is the right for all; that love is universal.
The two major Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans (LGBT) organisations – Collectif Arc-en-Ciel and the Young Queer Alliance have collaborated to organise the 10th Rainbow Parade – and to celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia 2015. Collectif Arc-en-Ciel was the main organiser for the event.
Customarily, various key actors were present to join the event such as PILS (HIV/AIDS prevention), CUT (injecting drug users), VISA G (for trans people and their burlesque shows), etc. The day was also marked by staffs of the U.S. Embassy like last year.
The presence of the youth was again observant and pronounced.
Alert Fond was a big sponsor and supporter of the event through the Young Queer Alliance. Alert Fond supports youngsters in various artivism and activism. One of the marked activities of YQA for this Rainbow Parade was “Cri de Coeur”; a canvas painting of ‘I <3’ with hearts.
Young people and some adults painted heart-shaped drawings on the canvas as a way to show their support to universal and equal love. One of the canvases was gifted by YQA to the Collectif Arc-en-Ciel for its 10 years of existence.
YQA also conveyed messages of anti-bullying of young LGBTQI, schooling policies to create inclusive environments for LGBTQI youths, greater opportunities to trans-people and protection from LGBTIQI-phobia through laws.
Thanks to people present for their photo courtesy and to Alert Fonds for its support.
